November kicks off the holiday “busy season,” but it’s hard not to be thankful when you have so many fun events on the calendar! It’s the season of the village open houses and we couldn’t be more excited. Looking for something not holiday related? Try the Birmingham Home & Garden Inspiration Home Tour, Vulcan 10K or Pinot and Pilates at Aero Joe!


Birmingham Home & Garden Inspiration Home Tour
Head over to Ross Bridge to see this 5 bedroom 4 ½ bath home built by Murphy Home Builders and designed by Virginia Volman Designs.

Pepper Place Farmer’s Market
Only one month left to enjoy the farmer’s market before it takes a winter hiatus.  Shop local farmers and artists from 7am-noon and now you can have brunch at OvenBird while you’re there!



Christmas Village Festival
Nov. 2-5
Make a trip over to the BJCC to shop a variety of gifts to kick off your holiday season.


Dia de los Muertos
Nov. 2nd
Join Bare Hands for their 15th Day of the Dead Festival in the streets of Pepper Place. There will be music, a jazz street parade, dance, food vendors, a corona beer garden, kid’s activities and more. (No pets, coolers or picnic baskets)

Pilates and Pinot at Aero Joe
Nov. 2
Enjoy a candlelight mat class then afterwards sip a glass of wine and mingle before you head out and enjoy the Day of the Dead festivities in Pepper Place.

Homewood Holiday Open House
Nov. 2   
Kick off the holiday shopping season by shopping downtown businesses while you enjoy refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, a trolley and more.


Vulcan Run 10k
Nov. 4th
The 43rd running of this classic 10k will start at Boutwell Auditorium and end with a DJ, food, beverages and adult refreshments.


Moss Rock Festival
Nov. 4 & 5
The Preserve in Hoover is offering an outdoor fall festival with artists, live music, nature exhibits, baked goods, a beer garden and more.


Sushi Class Cahaba Brewing
Nov. 6
Don’t miss this two-hour, hands-on class where you’ll learn everything you need to know to make sushi at home. Each student will have two sushi rolls to eat (one prepared by the teacher, one by the student) plus a take home cheat sheet with tips and tricks.

Deck the Heights Holiday Open House
Nov. 9
Bring the family for a fun night out in Cahaba Heights. Step aboard the trolley and stop to eat and shop at your favorite local businesses from 5-7pm.


Design Supply Grand Opening

Pepper Place is hosting yet another night of fun this month with the Design Supply grand opening party benefitting the Archibald Project and Mwana Villages.  


Escape Under the Stars – Edgewood Open House
Nov. 10 5-9pm
Edgewood’s open house will feature in-store specials, raffles, live music, food and more. Escape Day spa will offer select services at 40% off, mini-services and door prizes.


National Veterans Day Parade
Nov. 11
Catch the Veteran’s Day Parade downtown starting at 1:30 pm. Following the parade, find your favorite spot in the city to watch fireworks light up the sky above the Vulcan. A soundtrack to the show will be aired on 104.7 WZZK



Paints and Pints at Cahaba Brewing
Nov. 12
Join artist Natalie Zoghby from 2:00-3:30 for her abstract painting class. The class includes all supplies plus a beer. Sunday classes take place outside, so be sure to dress for the weather. All skill levels welcome.

The Junior League of Birmingham presents its annual holiday market. This three day shopping extravaganza will take place at The Finley Center at the Hoover Met.

Nov. 16
Carrie Pittman Art, Susan Gordon Pottery and Kate Morris Jewelry have teamed up to bring you a holiday pop up shop offering great gifts at all price points! Stop by and see them from 12-7. Cocktails start at 4.

North Pole Express

Take the kids down to the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum for a journey to the North Pole. You’ll enjoy chocolate milk and cookies, sing Christmas carols, listen to a special story, receive a Christmas gift and meet Santa, Ms. Clause and the Elves!

English Village and Mountain Brook Village Holiday Open House

The first of the Mountain Brook open house nights will be held from 5pm-8pm in English Village. Then head to Mountain Brook Village on Thursday from 5-m-8pm for another round of shopping!
