Black Benak's Four for the 4th

It’s time for one of our favorite holidays of the year and we rounded up four of our go-to items for the 4th of July. For a successful 4th, you have to have a look that makes you feel great and a menu that tastes even better while you’re watching those fireworks go off. So we picked out our favorite ensembles and menu options that we hope will get you ready to celebrate our nation’s independence.

When it comes to the clothing, tastefully incorporating patriotic colors is a must. Whether it’s a day out on the lake or an all day family barbecue, these light and easy picks will have you feeling and looking great throughout the day.

Stephanie: You can't go wrong with a lightweight maxi, and I love wearing all white and adding a pop of color for the 4th of July.

Catherine: I love these shorts from banana republic because the pockets and top of the shorts are scalloped and there's a cute tie at the top. They come in a few colors but I think the white is perfect for 4th of July festivities.

Catherine: Most likely on the 4th you're somewhere hot, or maybe near a body of water and don't want to wear make up but this tinted moisturizer has SPF and a little color so you look like you have a little something on and you won't burn.

Laurel: It's summer in the South, so I always lean towards cold salsas or dips to bring along on weekend trips. You can snack on this pineapple and black bean salsa all day!
