G Mommas Cookies & the Road to a Super Bowl Commercial

One morning recently, we got an email from the owner of a company we've long been obsessed with - G Mommas cookies. Turns out, the Selma-based business owner of G Mommas, Robert Armstrong, has won over an audience and propelled his company into the top 10 of Intuit Quickbooks' annual Small Business Big Game competition. The competition, which started with 15,000 applicants and is now solely dependent on votes from the public, will award one winner with an expenses-paid 30-second commercial to air during professional football's biggest game on February 7, 2016.

Armstrong even got a visit from Intuit partner and celebrity entrepreneur Bill Rancic shortly after being notified that he was in the top 10!

G Mommas is the only company in the running that is based in the South. The company sells prepackaged cookies made from all-natural ingredients in about 2000 retailers nationwide. Retailers include select Wal-Mart stores, Piggly Wiggly, Western Supermarket, Cracker Barrel and others. G Mommas cookies come in two flavors, Buddascotch Oatmeal and Chocolate Chip with Pecans, and are made with real butter and never made with preservatives. And if you haven't had them before, get yourself to your nearest store and purchase a few bags of the addictive, buttery goodness ASAP. Trust us, one bag is not enough.

Founder Robert Armstrong IV started the company in 2009, inspired by his grandmother, Anice “Gammy Momma” Armstrong, and with a mission to share the joy her baked goods had brought to his own family. As he builds the cookie business, Armstrong is also working to improve his hometown of Selma, and hoping that his investment in the history-rich small town will spur others to make the same investment.

So do your part to help this amazing company win the competition and VOTE - once a day - through November 3rd!
