Whether you’re ready for them or not- the holidays are here! To celebrate, the girls of Black Benak put together a Holiday Gift Guide. With so many people to shop for, it can be difficult to come up with creative and original gift ideas to match each individual’s personality. We created a list of our favorite gift ideas for moms, dads, siblings, boyfriends, best friends, bosses and everyone in-between!
Catherine: The card case from C. Wonder will keep all her cards looking great and in one place.
Hannah: Anything from Williams Sonoma for the cook. Or, any mom would love a classic button-down from Rails.
Laurel: A Williams-Sonoma Wooden Salad Bowl is something she will use constantly and have forever.
Milan: A new address book from May Designs is the perfect gift. You can design the cover yourself, with optional monogramming available.
Catherine: Any golfer will love range finder to help him on the golf course.
Hannah: A Garden & Gun subscription or wrinkle-free dress shirts from Brooks Brothers. Go with the slim-fit line if your dad appreciates higher-cut armholes.
Laurel: An oil painting off Etsy of his dog. Dads, (especially mine) usually have all the material things they could possibly want, so I feel like it’s always safe to go with sentimental things.
Milan: My dad loves to be outdoors, so he would appreciate any golf or fishing item. You can’t go wrong with a new fishing pole, or even some personalized golf balls!
For brothers and boyfriends:
Catherine: Flaviar, which is a monthly subscription for whiskey samples. It will be delivered to his door each month for the allotted time you pay for, and he won’t have to do anything at all.
Hannah: Anything from Orvis (Love their fleece or down vests – or just a gift card!)
Laurel: A nice leather/canvas weekender bag. It’s something they probably wouldn’t buy for themselves but will use more than they think. Orvis, L.L. Bean and Filson make high-quality and good-looking bags that will last for years.
Milan: Patagonia’s Better Sweater is a really nice and affordable lightweight jacket that he will love. If you don’t want to splurge, tickets to a fun show he loves will do.
For sisters and best friends:
Catherine: The monogram leather makeup bag from Accessory Concierge- or anything from their website!
Hannah: You can’t go wrong at Sephora. A Glamglow face mask or anything luxurious from the Marc Jacobs line will do.
Laurel: A lot of my best friends love to travel. Anthropologie has a beautiful “Map of the World” book that I think will spark some more travel inspiration and also be a great coffee table book. I also found one of the cutest passport holders I’ve seen in a long time at Fossil.
Milan: A sterling silver or gold nameplate necklace will be something she will love forever and be able to layer with other pieces. Engraving it will add a nice touch! Some cozy Free People socks are a comfy and cheaper alternative.
Catherine: You can’t go wrong with the Salud Toasting Flutes from Z Gallerie. They can be used throughout the season, and are perfect for New Years Eve!
Hannah: A nice card from Paper Source and a Starbucks gift card! Every boss appreciates good paper and good coffee.
Laurel: I don't know about all bosses, but I will be getting mine a Sephora gift card to fuel her mascara addiction...
Milan: The Great Bear Wax Co. candles smell amazing, use all natural ingredients, and are handmade right here in Birmingham. Lavender is the perfect relaxing year-round scent, but Campfire is amazing for the season.
We hope our ideas can help ease some holiday shopping stress. Buying the perfect gift for everyone on your list can be a challenge. Even a simple card is a thoughtful and appreciated gift. Good luck and happy holidays!
